I know you'll remember my mantras like, "A place for everything wanted, and everything wanted in its place," and "Keep it Simple, Sweetie." You may also remember terms like "OHIO" meaning "Only Handle It Once." I still quote these to myself as I struggle to keep my house clutter-free and in order.
But the most important lesson of the seminar---and I hope you got this--is to find Jesus in your work! Find him in your family, your neighbors, and your friends. This is the gist behind the Mary/Martha story. Jesus is right there sitting at your kitchen table. Take time to encounter him first in your daily prayer time and then, as you go about your work for the day.
The old Smart Martha Seminar is still available. It's a little outdated, but the power point presentation with props and discussion guide are still around. I've been promising to make this into a DVD study for groups for years now and have begun this process.

As in the case of the original Smart Martha Seminar, this 6 part seminar is part presentation and part discussion group. Not only do I present Catholic and Biblical support for rest, peace, happiness, but I also present findings from social sciences and other popular works that give suggestions for not only "why" we need it, but also the "how." After each brief talk, discussion groups take priority as we share our own valuable experiences and support for one another. Each participant gets a discussion guide/journal with notes and places for personal reflections. There are also group activities that complete the day. Here are the topics we cover:
